someone left some bread at Tavisuplebis Moedani (Liberty Square)…making it easy to photograph the sparrows that frequent the square.

I saw this guy waiting for a bus with this hawk on his gloved hand. He got on the bus with the bird, not sure how the other passengers reacted, I got on a different bus.
Female Kestrel
I wondered why there were no pigeons on the balcony. Then, I looked up, on the electricity wire was perched this magnificent kestrel (Falco tinnunculus). I had to consult two Facebook “beak geeks” (Term copyright: Auriole Fountaine) to identify the species…beyond magpie, sparrow and pigeon….I have difficulty recognising different bird species.
