In Soviet times the Russian dignitaries would be driven in ZiL (“Zavod imeni Likhachova”) limousines. AΒ few heads of state from some Arab and African countries also used them for official transport. They are a rare sight today, this one I found to my surprise in Muhriani a suburb of Tbilisi in Georgia.
I’ve read of these, but had never seen one until today. Thanks, Jim.

This is the only one I have ever seen in the metal.
“In the metal.” Nice. π
“in the metal” as opposed to an internet photo π Like if you see a famous person “in the flesh”.
I know what you meant, Jim. Just appreciating the cleverness.
Sorry, the unbidden teacher coming out in me. When it was unnecessary.
π No problem at all, Jim. You can give me that “A” without worry.
I was going to give you an A+ π
OK.
π quite an interesting car!
Thanks for sharing π
It is like a Russian Cadillac but rarer than its American equivalent.
π I bet it is! Were you able to take pictures from its inside? Thanks! π
I just got that one exterior shot. Here is a link to another one at auction http://www.coys.co.uk/cars/1986-zil-115
π Thank you very much, Jim! π
Don’t see those very often, that’s for sure.
This one is the only one I have seen in my life, so far.
