I had a lot of fun watching the Eurovision Song Contest last night …on TV and the Facebook group “Eurovision Banter and Mischievous Malarkey 2014”

… I thought Netherlands had the best song…but all the politics was very Eurovision….the Netherlands entry

Georgia bizarrely gave 12 points to Armenia (the neighbour we love to hate), 10 points to Austria (the fledgling Gay Pride here last year saw our priests leading a hostile mob against frightened participants) and 8 points to Russia (a country occupying two parts of what the international community recognise as Georgia: namely, South Ossetia and Abkhazia)….go figure…maybe the strange voting was related to Georgia’s failure to qualify for the final…

It is not over until the bearded lady sings.

  1. I once watched Eurovision while in Europe and it is indeed famous. There is actually an intrigue about who won this year. Yes politics is everywhere.
